Reliable Power Electronics Based Power Systems – challenges and opportunities

Bio:

Frede Blaabjerg (S’86–M’88–SM’97–F’03) is a Full Professor of power electronics and drives at Aalborg University, since 1998. From 2017 he became a Villum Investigator.

He has published more than 600 journal papers and is the co-author of four monographs and editor of ten books in power electronics and its applications.

He has received 28 IEEE Prize Paper Awards, the IEEE PELS Distinguished Service Award in 2009, the EPE-PEMC Council Award in 2010, the IEEE William E. Newell Power Electronics Award 2014 and the Villum Kann Rasmussen Research Award 2014.

He is nominated in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 by Thomson Reuters to be between the most 250 cited researchers in Engineering in the world.

Smart Grid: Moving from Automated Billing to grid optimization and end user involvement

Bio:

Henrik Mørck Mogensen is responsible for the Kamstrup Electricity Business. The Kamstrup Electricity business is supporting Electricity Utilities internationally with the transformation of the electricity grid to incorporate renewable energy sources and flexible demand. Kamstrup has a broad portfolio of electricity meters, communications infrastructure, back end IT systems and cloud based advanced analytics solution combined with a comprehensive service catalog ranging from field service to hosting and daily operations. Additionally Henrik is heading the Kamstrup software development, a team of approximately 150 highly skilled people, delivering software solution to all of Kamstrups Business Units.

Henrik has worked for Kamstrup for the last 8 years driving the change of the Kamstrup business from a product oriented business and organization to a full scope solution and service provider both as a business leader and as a technology supplier.

Erwin is Co-Founder of Grid Singularity and responsible for business development at Grid Singularity, a company that brings blockchain technology into the energy sector.

With Grid Singularity, Mr. Smole is also Co-Founder of the Energy Web Foundation (www.energyweb.org) where they are introduction an open source and public high performance blockchain for the energy market.

He has more than 22 years of experience in the energy sector in different management positions. Erwin has expert knowledge in energy market regulation and market models. Transactions as an essential part of the energy sector shall be done in the future with blockchains.

He holds a M.Sc. of the Technical University of Graz and MBA of the California Lutheran University, USA.
